Exploring France: Bayeux

Hello All!

I'm back today to talk about our quick stay in lovely Bayeux. This town served as the perfect home base for a one night, following a tour of the D-Day beaches, before heading off to see Mont St. Michel. Bayeux was one of the most idyllic small towns we visited on our trip!

We arrived in the evening after visiting the D-Day beaches for a dinner next to the town's cathedral. As the sun set, it came to life with colored lights shining on it! It was completely stunning. We were also able to go in to the church after dark, which was a cool experience.

The following morning we poked around the charming town for a bit before hitting the road. The town has thatched architecture, a very picturesque water wheel, and lovely street with little shops and bakeries. My favorite shop, Maison Anna Louise, was right across from the entrance to the cathedral. I purchased a few antique postcards and a pillow made of vintage fabric, with a screen print of original art by the shop's keeper depicting the Eiffel Tower.

Overall, if you find yourself in the area I have to recommend a stop in Bayeux!
