Wedding Etsy Finds

1/2/3/4/5/6

A two year engagement, naturally, gave way to two years of scouring Etsy for the most perfect handmades to complement our wedding! From my papercut ketubah, to my fingerprint tree guestbook, to my just married hat I'll be wearing on our honeymoon, these are some of my favorite finds on Etsy I've chosen to be a part of my big day!

I hope you find some inspiration here for your own wedding or special event! What treasures have you found on Etsy lately?

With love, Katie

Antiquing Adventures - Crafting a Handpicked Wedding

One of the absolute most fun and memorable parts of wedding planning, for me, has been the many trips I’ve taken antiquing with my family to find treasures for my modern vintage wedding. What I’ve mostly been on the hunt for is milk glass, a vintage creamy white glass I have been collecting to use in my centerpieces.

I’m not sure how the idea came about exactly, but one day I decided I wanted to collect milk glass to use as floral vessels for the wedding. Before you knew I it had a Pinterest board dedicated to the topic and had scoured StyleMePretty for every inspiration pic of milk glass I could find. I was hooked!
Milk glass is vintage yet modern in aesthetic with it’s clean and uniform white appearance. Once I started collecting my taste quickly evolved so that no mere bud vase or florist-grade vessel would do. Fenton became my favorite milk glass maker, and silver crest became my favorite Fenton pattern (followed closely by hobnail, a swiss-dot like texture that covers the glass).

How To Pick A Signature Scent For Your Wedding

I kind of surprised myself when I got engaged, I didn’t read nearly as many bridal magazines as I always thought I would. Don’t get me wrong, I indulged. But I think I had a clearer vision, even from the start, of what I was thinking for my wedding aesthetic. As a result, I found Pinterest to be more useful since I could curate what type of inspiration I was seeking.

I did glean some useful information from bridal magazines, though, and one tip in particular stuck out to me. The tip was to find a new perfume to wear for the first time at your wedding, something that reminds you of your love, romance, and the overall feeling you want to capture in your day. By finding a new perfume for you wedding, the idea is that you will create a scent memory so you will forever be reminded of your wedding when you spritz on that particular scent.

Wedding Wednesdays - My Bridal Shower!

Hello Again Lovelies! I'm checking in today with something so exciting, pictures from my bridal shower! With everything going on in my life right now I asked my bridesmaids for it to be a surprise (to take a little stress off my plate), and boy did they deliver! It was SO unbelievably GORGEOUS!

I think the best part of my bridal shower was getting to see all the thought and time and little touches that went in to pulling it together. The theme was french country mixed with Lilly Pulitzer, which is PERFECT for me right now as I've turned into a total Francophile (in preparation for my honeymoon) and Lilly lover of late! It might sound like an unexpected pairing, but it worked beautifully.

I'm such a sentimental person and I'm going to treasure all my gifts and the DIY pieces from this for a very long time! My bridesmaids pulled together Lilly inspired table runners, recipe cards from each guest in a hand decorated box, a jenga guest-book (I love Jenga BTW, challenge me and expect to LOSE ;), Lilly themed paper goods (the signage was on point!), and a Future Mrs. Hass banner that I died for. So cute!! They also picked fresh peonies which were arranged everywhere, and peonies are my absolute FAVORITE. The favors were handmade lavender body scrub, which is sooo perfect for the french country theme and also ties into my wedding where I am hoping to have some fresh lavender touches!

The bridal shower games were also totally on point with a multimedia newlywed game between me and Cam (no guys allowed, so his responses were pre-recorded on a tablet!). The questions were hard, but so fun! Cam of course took the opportunity to get sappy on the last question and made everyone's eyes go a little misty. Too. Cute.

Without further ado, here are the photos! I hope they inspire you as much as they do me!
